Faces of Nature

Ever since I was a child I would see faces in nature, sometimes they were human, but not always. I would see them in clouds or water, and often in trees and rocks. Only when I took up photography was I able to photograph and share some of them. One time I was at an art show and I was talking about my image called The Lion and Lovers. A young man who was walking by said to me, “you have pareidolia.” I had never heard of the word before, but as soon as I looked it up I knew he was right. Pareidolia is the tendency to perceive shapes and pictures in random visual patterns. Many people have it, and perhaps you do too. If so, I think you’ll enjoy the images I’ve included here.
